The mission of the Green Micro Loan program is to support entrepreneurs in under-resourced communities within the Charlotte, North Carolina region. By providing access to business development training, networking opportunities, and financial resources, these entrepreneurs can increase their standard of living, create jobs, and build sustainable communities.
The Green Micro Loan Program offers entrepreneurs much more than loans. The program's primary focus is to train entrepreneurs and give them the tools they need to be successful.
Get Business Training
Our program provides aspiring entrepreneurs with educational workshops on a variety of business topics. The goal is not just to learn about business practices, but to actually build each part of the business plan so the entrepreneur knows what it takes run a sustainable business. The following topics are covered in our business planning workshops:
- How to design and implement sustainable products or services
- How to build a business and financial plan
- How to structure your business for legal and accounting purposes
- How to build a stronger business by using economical, environmental, and community-based principles
- How to find potential tax credits and grant resources for your sustainable business
- How to implement lean and green friendly practices to reduce costs

Additionally, MSMF partners with other organizations to provide you with the information you need for your business when you need it most. For example, MSMF is partnering with Accion USA to provide the best financial services possible to our entrepreneurs and working with Micromentor to assist entrepreneurs with finding marketing, business development, and financial planning experts.
Get a Loan
After attending the business training sessions, entrepreneurs can apply for a small micro Loan. Many of our materials can be accessed from a home computer, but some of our classes are held at our offices as well as other locations.
