Bequest & Estate Gifts
You can make a planned gift by naming the Michael Scott Mater Foundation (MSMF) as the beneficiary in your will or by naming the organization as owner and beneficiary of a fully paid life insurance policy. These gifts can provide various tax benefits to you and your family. There are several ways you can do this:
- Gift a specific amount of money to MSMF
- Gift a specific item of property to MSMF
- Gift a specified percentage of the residue of your estate to MSMF (the residue of your estate is that which is left over after all specific gifts have been made, whether charitable or non-charitable).
- A bequest may be included in the body of a will or as an amendment (codicil). Gifts made through a bequest typically provide an estate tax deduction.
